The dark chord sequence I had been playing around with suggested bad people. The perfect candidates were the BBC employed debt collector goons who demand money for watching BBC television in the UK. I’ve had a direct experience with this extortion. It wasn’t pleasant.  After the third verse, I fantasized what it would be like if these people had more power. Oh, dear! And what a wonderful world it would be without them.

I think you wanna take my money
Oh, you want it so bad
Why don’t come back tomorrow
I case I haven’t got the fee
To watch the color TV, you know I

Haven’t got a penny
You can check with all my friends
Why do you show me all those badges?
You got a hand in my pocket
And another in my head, so do you

Talk to your mother?
Do you talk to your dad?
Do you gaze into the mirror?
Do you gather with those sinners?
Do you laugh about the phony winners?

In this world
In a very different world
I would like to take you with me
Dream inside us

I can’t give you my position
‘Cos I haven’t got a clue
I’m here beside the water
I can see a red balloon, it’s like it’s
Tethered to the moon, oh well I’ll

Meet you here next Sunday
Or maybe in a week
I may take long vacation
I could climb the highest mountain
I could walk into a burning desert

In this world
In a very different world
You and I can make it happen
See the promise

I don’t wanna go
And I don’t wanna stay
Any old town
In any old way but

I got lucky
I met a girl
And her name is Rosie
She invited me to a
Room that’s cozy
What’s that shadow
On my shoulder

In this world
In a very different world
You and I can make it happen
See the promise

In this world
In a very different world
You and I can stay forever
Sweet elation

I can’t give you my position

‘Cos I haven’t got a clue

You wanna take my money

I’m here beside the water

I met a girl and her name is Rosie

I haven’t got a penny

I can’t give you my position

What’s that shadow on my shoulder

Haven’t got a clue

‘Cos I haven’t got a clue
